Rhinoplasty, also known as a nose job, is a surgical procedure aimed at enhancing the appearance and in some cases the function of the nose.

TYPES OF RHINOPLASTY

There are actually two types of approach for nose job.

First of them is cosmetic rhinoplasty which focuses on improving the nose’s appearance by modifying the thickness and length of nose in according to the lines with contours of face shape and lifting the nose tip. In addition to this procedure, depend on demand the nose wings also can be reshaped.

The second approach of nose job is functional rhinoplasty which refers to improve the medical structure of nose in order to enhance the breathing and airflow. OVERVIEW OF THE PROCEDURE AND TECHNIQUES

As the overview of rhinoplasty procedure, it involves reshaping the nose by altering bone, cartilage and soft tissue. And the techniques may include dorsal hump reduction, tip refinement or septoplasty for functional improvements.

Rhinoplasty can be performed under local anesthesia with sedation or general anesthesia, depending on the complexity of the procedure. The surgery typically lasts 1 to 3 hours, but this varies based on the extent of the changes required.

POST-OPERATIVE CARE AND RECOVERY

Initial recovery involves swelling and bruising, with a splint or cast worn for support.Complete recovery may take several weeks to get swelling down and decreases the edema. Following post-operative care instructions is crucial, including limitations on activities and proper wound care.
